    1. This happened on Wednesday last between Lemitar and Socorro at about 11.00am.

So I really must share this story. On the way back to Mexico we encountered a New Mexico state cop driving at 73mph, in the overtaking lane. I passed him in the right lane as he was not moving over. I was doing 75 so I just crept past him.
He then sped up and drove about 100 metres ahead then slowed back to his speed in the left lane. So after a few minutes I again passed him in the right lane.
Surprise! He pulled in behind and flagged me down.
What an obnoxious arsehole. I was informed that I was speeding so I disagreed. He said that he had radar, so I asked how fast was I going, and he couldn’t answer. He then said I am not allowed to pass a police vehicle…….
He took my licence and papers, and as he was about to walk away Ellen told him that she had to pee. He ignored her and walked away.
So Ellen opened her door and the rear door for privacy, and dropped her knickers. He was screaming at her to get back in the car, and that is an order.
He charged with his hand on his gun, as they all do in this police state, and Ellen told him “If you are threatened by an old lady with her knickers around her knees, please feel free to draw your gun”.
He moved away and got on his radio, then came back snatched Ellen’s drivers licence out of her hand, and informed us that we are “officially detained”. Arrested. Really.
He called for backup and his boss arrived and we watched him giving this young cop a mouthful. It’s amazing what hand gestures can tell you.
He then came back and told us we were free to go, but continued to reprimand Ellen about obeying a cop, and told her to “Shut up when I’m talking”.
I wish I had turned on my camera, and got his badge number.
